Over the next year, we're planning a progression: Mount Ellinor (Feb. ‘27), Mount St. Helens (Mar. ‘27), Mount Baker in early May, and for those who want to go further — a summit attempt on Mount Rainier in summer 2027. All of this will be as an independent team, no guide service. Not everyone needs to commit to Rainier to be part of this. Some will train toward the roped glacier climbs. Some will set their sights on peaks like Ellinor and St. Helens — serious summits in their own right, no rope work required. A few of us are even eyeing the ski and snowboard descent of St. Helens. Different objectives, same mountains, same training, same fellowship. I'm holding an interest meeting on [7/27 / 6:15 PM / CRCC Children’s Lobby area] to lay out the whole picture — the objectives, the training, the gear, the cost, and the commitment each path requires. Here's the honest part: mountaineering is earned. Every path in this group requires real fitness training and real preparation — Rainier most of all. If that excites you rather than scares you, come. No commitment required to attend. Just come curious and come honest about what you're willing to give. Questions: Contact the church office or Jeremy Schooler
