On This Rock Adventures will be offering a wilderness navigation course.  The Wilderness Navigation Course is a beginner course — no prior experience needed. By the time you're done you'll know how to read a topo map, use a compass accurately, understand GPS and how to use your phone as a navigation tool, pinpoint your location using UTM coordinates, and navigate from one point to another with confidence. More importantly, you'll understand how to stay found rather than ending up in a situation where you need to be rescued. What's involved: Pre-work: ~2 hours of free video content, done on your own before the classroom session Classroom session: Thursday, July 30 | 5:30–7:30 PM | CRCC Two field exercises (~2 hours each), scheduled flexibly after the classroom session What you'll need to buy: Compass (~$70 recommended) — details in the course description Wildcat Lake topo map (~$17) — details in the course description Some available for students to use during the course - Contact Jeremy S. for availability.
